One Great Read Event, Oct. 28
Judge Tom Busch will present, "The Human Zoo; People on Display at the Columbian Exhibition," on October 28 at 7pm at the West Lafayette Public Library. The event is sponsored jointly by WALLA and the West Lafayette Library in conjunction with this year's One Great Read. Registration is not needed.

Classes Begin October 14
October 4 is the deadline for registering for Fall classes. Call the WALLA office if you would like to attend but have not yet registered. (746 2006) We hope to see many familiar and new faces joining us for classes. Also, remember there are two luncheons you may attend with registration no later than the Thursday before the luncheons. The dates of the luncheons are Oct, 22, (Honor Flight, One Last Mission) and October 30. (History of the Farmers Institute) Cost for each of the box lunches if you wish to order is $9
Come See, "Cadillac Records"
The movie, Cadillac Records will be shown at the West Lafayette Public Library on October 14 at 6:45. The film is rated R and chronicles the rise and trials of African American musicians in mid-century Chicago. As always, the film is open to the public and is free.

Don't forget the WALLA and Friends Movie, documentary Pink Ribbons, Inc. (2011, 97 minutes, not rated) being shown tonight, Monday, September 9 at 6:45 p.m. at the West Lafayette Library.

Fall Class Sign Up Has Begun
Registration for Fall 2013 classes has begun. Deadline for signing up for classes is Friday October 4. Sixty dollars allows one to take up to 14 classes. Check the online brochure for a listing of classes or call the WALLA office at 746 2006.
